I just joined a postcard swap called "POST CROSSING"
I don't know for sure how long I will continue sending but it is rather
interesting getting postcards from different countries with messages
on them.
I got one from Taiwan from a student there who sent me
a postcard of a painting his teacher did and it resembled the work of Van Gogh.
Who is one of my very favorite artist.
The student is learning chinese calligraphy and wrote a message in both english and Chinese.
He said "Chinese calligraphy is the art of chinese characters. It not only be seen in Art
in Taiwan and China but cultivated our mind". Interesting.
The artist is: Lin jun-jt
Beautiful postcard. About calligraphy as art, it IS in the hands of masters. I saw an entire gallery of calligraphic art [for moderately high prices, considering it's location] in Ulan Baator, the capital of Mongolia. Had I had a lot of money to spend I would have bought at least a couple examples.
