My Clematis Vine

I could not believe how this vine survived winters (2) and hot. I planted one little plant three years ago and didn't have much luck with it. This year for some reason it just sprouted up reaching for the sky I guess. Reminds me of a fairy tale.

I wanted to share this with you as I was so shocked to see it and had to encourage it even more by putting up a lattice climber.

Update on our Garden

I guess because we had some unbelievable cooler weather when Dave planted this garden but I was hoping for some fresh tomatos by now. Here is and update by one month I think of what is going on.

Veggie Garden for 2010

Now that dear hubby is getting older he has decided to make his garden this year half of what it was last year. This is the beginning of it, he measures every inch of ground and makes sure it is exactly 18 inches from each plant. This year it will be tomatoes, squash, peppers, zucchini and I planted peas on the other side of deck. Now we can sit on the swing or me in my hammock and watch it grow. I will try to document this as it proceeds to produce.
