Really Ugly! But colorful!

I hope it doesn't make you cringe as much as I did but this was the first time I have ever
seen this type of caterpillar and would love to know what it turned into but alas it is gone
forever.  Have any of you seen anything like this.  I believe it is called a Saddleback" and
found in Georgia in the mountains.  How it got here in Tennessee is a wonder.  Its a four
hour drive from there to here. Do not click on photo as it is creepy enough this size.

    That's a weird looking beastie -- but it looks like it has the potential to becomes a beautiful butterfly or moth.
