Creating Artistically Inclined

I have recently started a new group on Swap-bot, which is a crafty swapping place to enjoy doing crafts etc. and sharing them with others.  The name of this new group is called Artistically Inclined.
I call it that because I truly believe anyone can draw.  It is a place where we are given a name of a swap, sign up for it and after a week or more the names are given out randomly for you to swap your craft and someone has your name and swaps it to you.  So...

One swap I called "Famous Artists" for this theme swap you do not have to be a member of the group, just a swap-bot participant. So far, we have done Picasso, Van Gogh, Modigliani and Georgia  O'Keeffe. Quite a collection we are getting.

Now we are doing Monet.- Next month maybe Miro or Dali.

The idea is this:  You google the artist to see his/her painting gallery and pick a painting you think you could reproduce.  Now it does not have to be a carbon copy, but similar.  No one cares how you do it as long as you follow the instructions of the swap.  I have received some amazing results from people trying their hand at art maybe for the first time or just love doing this.  The size of the painting in any medium you wish is usually 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 or 4 x 6, or 5 x 7 and if you wish anything bigger that is okay.

This is my Monet. (I'm brave aren't I).

  This is Claude Monet

I forgot to take a photo for my ownself of the ones I have done except for this one done for Monet..  I don't consider myself an artist but do love to paint or sketch.  Hope you enjoy. I know I am no Claude Monet. I'm just a Diane Yates, novice.

  1. No, some people are non-drawers, just like some are tone deaf. You are lucky you have that talent.

  2. Thank you, I can always count on your input June. I think you are both a drawer and musically inclined.

  3. I think your Monet is a great impressionistic rendition of his cottage. It would look wonderful on cards. You definitely have style. --- barbara

  4. SwapBot - what an ingenious idea! I've always been a sketcher but never had the courage to pick up a paint brush. Why does it seem intimidating?! You've inspired me! -- Jan
