Giddy Up!

You can tell spring is here and of course
Summer is not far behind.

I blog a bit about the "Quiet Side of the Smokies" because it is such
a lovely drive and everyone is sprucing up for Summer tourists, even though
many forget about Townsend and head instead for Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg.

This is such a great picture of whats happen now in Townsend.  This past Sunday all
the horses were out of the stables and ready to go for a ride.  There is even a horse
and buggy ride for us "elderly" people? This is fairly new this year as across the
street are tubes to be ridden instead, down the Little River. I could really do just to
a bochure for this town.  Now, don't everyone rush to go there as I too love this
quiet side just the way it is.

If you click on the photo and can get a closer view you will see a horse on top
of the building.  Not so, he is grazing on the hill behind it.

  1. Thanks for telling us about the horse on top of the building--fun! Wish I was down there for the weekend.

  2. I have wanted to know how to ride horses since I was 10 years old, but as a "city girl" I never had the opportunity. Then it was too expensive. And now I'm probably too heavy to even get on a horse. But I love watching them. I would really love being able to take pictures of this bunch.
