Attempting a Crazy Quilt Block

Okay, I do like to try different things, different styles, easy things to do.   I also feel very creative when I put my mind to embelishing things.  This Crazy Quilt design was a first for me. I like to design more than anything so  I thought I would give it a try.

I asked some friends, both real and on the internet, to send me any scraps or embellishments they would like to get rid of and I got boxes full from them.  So much fun to check out these different textures, feeling the satin and laces.

So, I am going to show you what I did for my first one. I am not too sure I will make a quilt top out of them.  It was great fun, time consuming but I loved doing it. Some of the blocks I have seen done this way are outstanding, so bare with me on this.

This right now without any binding on it is a 9 x 9 size.  It started out as a 12 x 12 then I started to to square it, thus I lost a few inches.
But then again I really enjoy doing blocks at 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 unfinshed.

  1. Very pretty and you enjoyed it and if you have boxes of fabrics I'd say go for it -- at least for a quilt big enough to use for something. Doesn't need to be done to any deadline, just when you feel like doing that kind of hand sewing.
