Quilt Fest in Tennessee

This past week a wonderful Quiltfest was on in Pigeon Forge, Tn. There must have been 300 vendors there and Art Quilts unbelieveable. I know mine will never be entered but it was eye candy that was much enjoyed. I like this one in particular. Very large quilt all done with itsy bitsy pieces of fabric and then put together on the back with small embroidery thread tied in knots. There were thousands of pieces in this and the picture does not give it justice. I only wish I had the name of the quilter. She did state she started it in August of 2009 and finished it in 2009. Although this type of quilt may not be of interest to a lot of quilters, I believe the workmanship in it deserves the praise. And it didn't even win a prize.

  2. All three are fantastic -- looking at art quilts, for real is best, but even on a blog or in a magazine or book, gives me a thrill -- that the quilter can be a true artist is totaly wonderful. Thanks for posting these photos.

  3. I'm going to a quilt show at Maryville College on Friday. I can't wait. Even though I'm not a quilter, I still get inspiration and am so impressed with the work they do.
