Spider Web

On my back deck I noticed this beautiful web spun by a spider.
I also had a ceramic cat laying in repose and apparantly the cat did not affect the spider at all. Look closely and you can see where the web begins (at cats ear) and ends at the rail. So unpredictable and lovely.

Love the Colors of Autumn

Just caught our new pup Katie sitting on the front porch in our rocker.

Didn't realize how outstanding the color surrounding her looked. I surely hope you will enjoy our Katie.

Pictures of my favorite hangout

This is my hammock under the deck where I spend my napping times. I also get a lot of crafty ideas this way as in my writing. Dave put the deck on himself with a hammock for me and a swing for him and dog Katie.

Way Back Then: 1971

Dave and I in 1971 taking my kids to the mountains of Georgia for a camping trip. We weren't married yet and I wanted the children to really like him before we committed to a long time relationship. We were in love. I bet he can't pick me up and carry me into our new camper anymore tho. We were married 3 months later in December 1971.

Cloudy Day - By Diane Yates

Against a baby blue sky they appear
Clouds, pristine white
Clouds, tinged with gray
Changing shape as they pass overhead
First, shaped as an elephant, then a dog

Amused, I watch as they float by
Then suddenly, rain drops
Gracing the land below to give nourhment to the earth
First in droplets that make me stay to watch
Then a shower of rain, that makes me alert, but wet.

Clouds, providing water for this glorious but parched land
Clouds, giving me a picture show on that large
babyblue screen.

Poems (I think) By Me!

I love doing a random poetry swap. My first was to pick every 12th word for 15 words from a book I was reading and make poetry out of them. I was so surprised that it almost made sense.

The words were: weather, darkness, cast, as, time, blue, porch, shaking, playing, swirling, music, further, all, hit, not . All words randomly throughout the first few pages of the book. I may try that again and present a new swap with the same idea.

Tornado Watch

The weather turned in a darkness cast of blue
The porch then shaking in time
As if music was playing

Sounds of swirling winds
Seem further away than not
But then it hit and all that was,
Was gone
